All the way through grade school I was known as “Horse Girl.” Horses were my special interest; I lived for the moments I could share with these incredible animals and, when I couldn’t, I was actively searching for information about them to hoard. I continued the obsession through college and graduated from Tarleton State University with a biology-based animal science degree and an equine certificate. I discovered Ida Hammer’s Whole Horse Hoof Trimming Course while in college and once I graduated, I became certified through her course.
I offer maintenance and corrective trimming, glue-on shoes, casting, and problem solving that takes into account the individual horse and situation. I am based out of Northwest Houston, but I serve a large part of the south central Texas area.
My singular belief in life is that everything can always be better. I try to learn something new every single day by routinely attending clinics and continuing education. I often confer with those more experienced than myself on new (and old!) subjects. I believe that the trim is just one of many tools we use to create the most functional feet possible.
I offer nutritional and management consultations to help optimize your animal’s health and wellness while keeping within your budget. The work of Dr. Kellon, Pete Ramey and the NRC guide all my nutritional recommendations.
